New Zealand's folk trio "Turkey The Bird" will remind you of the famous Margarita cocktail infused with a hint of "Simon & Garfunkel", 2 ounces of "Mumford and Sons", a splash of banjo and served on ice on a sunny day. Catchy folk songs with stunning rich melodies and effortless smooth lyrics. Songs that tell uplifting stories about love and life. Hailing from the New Zealand left coast town New Plymouth, this uplifting band will hit you with beautiful three part harmonies and toe tapping rhythms.
ADRIAN WHELAN
Adrian is originally from Ireland and plays guitar, mandolin, bass and is the unofficial Irish world champion spooner between 1998 - 2014. He has played support to Irish singer songwriter Damien Dempsey on the Wellington leg of his NZ tour, and has played in numerous bands in New Plymouth over the past years. |
ANDRE MANELLA
The Swiss-Kiwi musician has made Aotearoa his home since 2008, he plays guitar and bass. Andre also manages "Turkey The Bird" and has been making a living as a full time musician for over 10 years. He is also part of Indie Pop act "Sonic Delusion", the 9 piece Latin Afrobeat band "Banana Mundo" and has toured extensively all around Aotearoa, Australia, and several tours of Europe. |
SOL BEAR COULTON
Sol Bear Coulton is the token kiwi of the band. This gentle giant plays the banjo like a king and has definitely the most hair in the band. Sol is also the only Australasian artist to be endorsed by the great American Banjo company Dearing, making him officially very cool! |
